For better or worse, nowadays Facebook is becoming one of the most well-known websites as well as used ones. In the last years of Primary, we can find some pupils who have Facebook and use it every day. For this reason, not as a main tool, but it could be used in class to show some material, some interesting video, to share comments in some Facebook wall, and so on. It is a tool which the students already know how to use it, so it would be pointless the fact of teaching them how to use it.

From my point of view, we should take advantage of new technology since it makes easier so many things in terms of teaching.

New website - Federació Catalana de Basquetbol

One of my passions is basketball, so every weekend I am refereeing basketball matches. That’s why I couldn’t live without it. The main reason why I decided to choose that website in my Symbaloo was the daily dealing I have with it. I usually have online exams related to basketball rules, they tell me when I have compulsory meetings, important advices, and so on.

It is difficult to introduce it in a classroom, but why not use it when pupils are studying Basketball in P.E? They could know the main rules of that sport and watch videos related to that which are in this website. I am sure it would be a different way for them to learn. However, it would be used with 5th and 6th grade students.

This sport is terrific and it completely fits in my Personal Learning Environment! I feel devotion!

 

New website - Digital timeline

What is clearer than a digital timeline to know some important dates so as to remember them or take them into account?

This website is completely focused on the creation of digital timelines and you can introduce what you want. Moreover, you have the chance to add a visual support in each date you have, so it makes the timeline clearer. It is completely applicable to any Primary course with different purposes.

What if you are a history teacher? It is a perfect tool to show on the blackboard and start the session with that. I am sure it is going to draw the pupils’ attention, so their motivation will enhance.

 

Grey webmixes

I am writing that to explain the meaning of the grey webmixes. I thought to separate the websites which are useful just for me, but they could be used to take information to use in class with my pupils, and I use almost every day. Also, I would like to underline the Federacio Catalana de Basquetbol website, which is related to me since I referee basketball matches every weekend.

Other webmixes I would like to explain are xtec and edu365 which are completely related to my future profession. Therefore, I try to use them every day.

New website - National Geographic

National Geographic is one of the most well-known websites in terms of animals, solar system, stuff related to the Earth, the wild world, and so on. Hereby, you can extract some interesting information with a great deal of usefulness so as to use in class with our pupils. There are magazines which can be used in every Primary course, so it is an easy website to work with in any age.

I totally recommend that website, that’s why I decided to introduce it in my Symbaloo and comment it in that blog.

What could me more interesting than share all your thoughts and beliefs in a blog? That’s the reason why I think it is a terrific tool to use in a class with your pupils. They can share whatever they want, always with the supervision of the teacher, and create debates. In addition, it could be used to follow some item weekly. However, I would deal with Blogger up to the third or fourth course of Primary since they know more or less how to use computers.

On the other hand, I would like to highlight that the teacher would have to check every student’s blog so as to make sure he/she is following a good development in terms of the chosen item to be studied.

As teachers, we could use it to share our ideas related to ways of teaching, gripping books, different tools, and so on. Besides, it is so easy to keep in contact with people, so you will learn a large number of things.

What a brilliant website! As its name says, it provides us a large number of tools to use in the class as a teacher. Nevertheless, I would like to focus in one of these tools, which is used to distribute the furniture of a class in a picture. Also, another tool I would like to underline is one used to construct online quizzes that can include multimedia.

As future teachers, we should keep in mind this website and try to use it frequently since it so helpful for us. In addition, it not only has material for teachers, but it has also for our pupils.
